Requirements
- Age: Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
- Financial Criteria:
- Possess net assets of at least HKD 30 million (approximately USD 3.85 million) for at least two years prior to application.
- Clean Criminal Record: Must not have any criminal record.
- Eligible Investments: Invest at least HKD 3 million in a goverment managed investment porfolio and HKD 27 million in permissible investment assets.
- Background: Must be a foreign national, Chinese national who has obtained permanent residence status in another country, Macao SAR resident, or Chinese resident of Taiwan.

- Equities listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
- Debt securities issued or guaranteed by the Hong Kong government or other eligible institutions.
- Certificates of deposits issued by authorized Hong Kong banking institutions.
- Subordinated debts issued by authorized Hong Kong banking institutions.
- Eligible collective investment schemes.
- Eligible investment-linked insurance products.
Process
- Prepare Documentation: Gather required documents, including proof of net assets, clean criminal record, and evidence of investment.
- Submit Application: Submit the completed application to the Hong Kong Immigration Department along with all necessary documents.
- Investment: Make the required investment of at least HKD 30 million in permissible assets within six months of the initial approval.
- Approval: Upon verification of the investment, the applicant will be granted an initial visa, usually valid for two years.
- Renewal: The residence permit can be renewed every two years, provided the investment is maintained.
- Permanent Residency: After seven years of continuous residence, apply for permanent residency.
