Requirements
- Age: Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
- Business Endorsement: Business idea must be endorsed by an approved endorsing body no more than 3 months prior to the Visa Application.
- English Language: Competency in English to at least CEFR Level B2 (IELTS Score of 5.5-6.0) in all categories.
- Financial Support: Sufficient funds to support themselves and any qualifying dependents.
- General Grounds: Application must not fall for refusal on general grounds.
- Health Requirements: Provide a TB Test Certificate, if required.
Investment
- Investment: Recommended investment of at least GBP 50,000 into the business.
- Business Establishment: Applicants may establish their own business or be part of a founding team.
- If part of a founding team, each applicant must play an instrumental role and obtain their own endorsement.
- Endorsement Requirements: To obtain endorsement, the business must be:
- Innovative / Unique to the market
- Viable
- Scalable
- Sustainable
Process
- Business Plan: Develop a viable business plan and get it endorsed by an authorized body approved by the UK Government.
- Visa Application: Apply at the UK Embassy or Consulate nearest to the applicant’s residence after obtaining endorsement.
- Initial Visa: Receive an initial 3-year visa to move to the UK and start the business.
- Progress Reviews: Endorsing body reviews progress at regular intervals.
- Visa Extension: Extend the visa for an additional 3 years if the business is still running and validated by an approved body.
- Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR): Apply for ILR after 3 years, meeting minimum business performance requirements.
