Process

  • Choose Investment: Select the preferred investment option (real estate, business, or government bonds.) and make the required investment.
  • Prepare Documentation: Gather necessary documentation, including proof of investment, clean criminal record, health insurance, and financial means.
  • Submit Application: Apply for the visa at the Spanish consulate in the applicant’s home country or directly in Spain.
  • Visa Issuance: Upon approval, the visa is issued, typically within 20 days. The initial visa is valid for one year.
  • Obtain Residence Permit: After arriving in Spain, apply for a residence permit, which is valid for three years and renewable every five years.
  • Renewal: Renew the residence permit every five years. There is no requirement to live in Spain full-time, but the investment must be maintained. For the duration of the visa.
  • Permanent Residency and Citizenship: After five years of continuous residency, apply for permanent residency. After ten years, apply for Spanish citizenship if desired or less, dependent upon applicants background and citizenship.

Requirements

  • Non-EU Nationals: The program is available to non-European Union nationals.
  • Clean Criminal Record: Applicants must have no criminal record in Spain or any country they have resided in the past five years.
  • Health Insurance: Applicants must have public or private health insurance valid in Spain.
  • Financial Means: Proof of sufficient financial means to support themselves and their family members during their stay in Spain.

Investment

  • Real Estate: Minimum investment of EUR 500,000 in Spanish real estate, which can be one or multiple properties.
  • Business: Investment in a business project in Spain considered of general interest, creating jobs, having a socioeconomic impact, or contributing to scientific/technological innovation.
  • Government Bonds: Investment of at least EUR 2 million in Spanish public debt.
  • Bank Deposit: Deposit of at least EUR 1 million in a Spanish financial institution.
  • Shares or Stocks: Investment of at least EUR 1 million in shares of Spanish companies or bank deposits.
